Meet and Greet
When you arrive at Brisbane Airport you will be met by a Visitoz Greeter. We ask that, if possible, you arrive in Brisbane on a Thursday morning so that you can change your e-visa into a paper one if necessary (internships only) before going to Rainbow Beach.
It often takes as long as two hours to get through Customs and Immigration at the airport.
On your arrival the greeter will take you to the YHA in Brisbane. You will have no trouble in locating our greeter as they will be holding a large A3 sign with Visitoz in large letters, greeters will also be wearing a Visitoz Polo shirt. They wait BEHIND the crowded area when you come out of Customs, so are much easier to see.
In case you do not meet up immediately, you can call the greeters mobile(cell).

To start with we will be asking Barry to meet those coming into the domestic terminal who are transiting in Sydney. These people should call Barry with the flight number and arrival time before leaving Sydney otherwise they cannot be met.
As you know we ask participants to allow at least 4 hours to do this, but most travel agents ignore this advice.
This means that the first or second connecting flights are missed and the Greeter hangs around for ages and this costs a lot in time and car parking fees.
IF YOU MISS A FLIGHT FROM YOUR HOME COUNTRY OR MISS AN IN
Also please tell us of delays due to snow, ash clouds, strikes etc – news of these may not have reached us in time and it is something we definitely need to know!

While at the Brisbane City YHA you will be given a bus ticket to Rainbow Beach for Friday morning and a welcome letter. You will need to catch the 10.15am Greyhound bus from the Transit Centre. There is a free courtesy bus from the hostel to the Transit Centre. It is recommended that you take the full weekend to unwind then you are ready for what follows when you arrive at VisitOz.
If you arrive on any other day of the week you will need to spend a few days in Brisbane at your own expense before the programme starts on Thursday and catching the Friday bus to Rainbow Beach. Please endeavour to arrive at a sensible time of the day - you will be met!

Your bus ticket to Rainbow Beach may be a group one.
On Monday you will either catch the 10:00am Greyhound bus from Rainbow Beach to Gympie or the Pursers bus at 10:15am. Your welcome letter will tell you which. This bus will be met by a small bus from Pursers Coaches or a car (depending on numbers) and this will bring you to Goomeri. There you will have lunch with us at The Grape and The Olive Restaurant before doing paperwork and shopping and going to your training farm for the rest of the week.
